Villages with thatched roofs which are small and nice which is set among the terraced fields, make an attractive picture with the backdrop of magnificent Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri including majestic Machapuchare Himal also popularly known as ‘Fish Tail’ Mountain.
Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts, a British adventurer, first explored the Annapurna area in 1956 and then revealed the location of this magnificent destination as the 'Sanctuary of Gods' to the rest of the world. Since then, the "Annapurna Sanctuary'' has been named after this lovely and picturesque plateau.
